Our goal is to build truly customized bikes, exactly according to customer requirements, yet in a sufficiently short delivery times. That is why our price list is quite large and one can quite easily get confused and lost when reading it. In such a case it is best to read through our Buyer's Guide, which can be downloaded from our website www.azub.eu . Still, we think that a few bikes intended for special activities should be highlighted. We do not intend to force you to get an exactly defined model with precisely set equipment. We would rather inspire you and show you how we imagine a bike for the given purpose based on our experience and experience of people who use such bikes. You can then complete it in accordance with your specific needs.
Hardcore off-road recumbent
Hardcore was previously a separate model, but its base was still a frame from the Max model and also its components were often very similar. Hardcore is still the only one real mountain recumbent bike, which is available on the market. We recommend using under-seat steering, wheel sets made by any of the renowned brands, the 80 mm adjustability front fork Rock Shox Tora or higher, the air shock-absorber Suntour, or FOX, Shimano XT shifting, any of the disc brakes or V-brakes by Shimano XT. Schwalbe Racing Ralph tyres, which we also offer, can be seen as the best option for this bike from our offer, as well as certain super light tyres from Continental. We recommend cranks with 44/32/22 teeth for easier riding up-hill. If you want to reduce the weight by half a kilogram, consider buying a carbon-kevlar seat.
Commuting to work by bike starts spreading in countries where such a means of transportation was not so common, and the countries were generally not ready for that either. The bike is “green”, but still fast enough and often faster than a car. And it can be in addition very comfortable if you ride a recumbent bike. Our idea of a recumbent bike City version is based on the Mini model or Bufo model, but some versions with the combination of 20/26” wheels will also do well. We recommend a multi-speed hub Shimano Alfine with 8 or 11 speeds, which is now used by many of our customers e.g. in Amsterdam. Its maintenance is quite simple, the chain gets less dirt and the wheel hub is predestined for everyday use of the bike. Of course, proper lighting such as Edelux light and lighting dynamo in the SON front hub cannot be missing. And of course, you must not forget about the fenders and rack. Upper steering is then the best choice for urban traffic.
