This system has made AZUB famous since the brand’s foundation in 2000. It allows riders to find the right position on their AZUB recumbent through a wide range of adjustable seat positions, through the possibility of adjustment their under-seat or upper-seat steering and last but not least, through the possibility of setting the ideal frame length.
Seat adjustment: In length (horizontal sense) you can shift the seat by thirteen centimetres and in height (vertical sense) by six centimetres. The seat slope can be adjusted up to twenty degrees.
According to the type of steering of your choice, you can adjust it as follows: If using the upper-seat steering, you can adjust an angle and a length of a front boom so that you would get your ideal distance between handle-bars and an adjusted seat. If using the under-seat steering you can adjust both an angle of handle-bars and their distance from a steering radius. You may even opt for setting a steering sensitivity…yet it is a feature we recommend for very advanced riders. Ninety per cent of AZUB recumbents’ riders are satisfied with the standard steering setting.
You can set an ideal frame length for you. A standard frame adjustment scope is approx. twenty centimetres which is convenient for the vast majority of recumbent riders. For may-poles, we keep ready a so-called “long front boom”. And for short ones, we can build to order an accordingly shortened frame so that they could also fully enjoy riding AZUB recumbents.
AND WHY DO WE DO ALL THIS?
We often get asked why we bother so much about adjustment. Isn’t it enough to set a bike at the moment of a purchase and for good? Well, yes…with “normal” bikes it may be the case…but, let’s ask you a following question: “When you are buying your first recumbent or changing its type, are you sure of the position that will satisfy you the best on the new one straight away?” Based on the experience of our customers, we know that initially they rather sit on their recumbents and only with time and experience they dare to lower the centre of gravity for speedier and sportier riding.
What’s more: most of our customers own only one recumbent bike. And yet, we want to give them the possibility to enjoy equally the pleasure of cruising over smooth road coating as well as the pleasure of slower gravel ones. In the former case, you want to increase your aerodynamics; in the latter you appreciate a steeper position for a better control of your recumbent.
Plus, your friends might want to try your recumbent, too…and you will certainly want to share with them your pleasure from riding it! As your friends are not all of the same height as you are, you will appreciate your wide bike’s adjustability just with clamping devices with no need to shorten its chain.
We will participate on the show Bike und Outdoor in Dresden together with our dealer Fahrrad Riemer. The show is from 12. - 14.3.2010. Come to visit us in the hall 2 stand no: 227.
