Probably the best model for such purposes is AZUB 5, which Marija Kozina also used on her journey from China to Slovenia. But many will opt for the Max model, which due to its large wheels allows for better operability in terrain. Its disadvantage is a significant sitting height, which affects the manoeuvrability and stability, particularly of a laden bike. We recommend the MEKS front suspension fork for rigid #5 and at best, the DT Swiss rear shocks. For Max a solid front fork will suffice. There should be 3x8 gears, because the chain for 8-speed cassette is wider and longer-lasting. But this implies the use of Alivio shifting combined with Deore or Deore XT. The higher components have no longer been sold with the 8-speed shifting. Cranks should have 44/32/22 teeth for better climbing ability with heavy loads. Hubs should be on industrial bearings, which are maintenance-free and should have 36 spokes.  In our case, the standard supplied Novatec hubs. We recommend under-seat steering for greater comfort. Accessories are entirely up to you. You will probably choose the expedition carrier, lights holders and computers, etc.
