Commuting to work by bike starts spreading in countries where such a means of transportation was not so common, and the countries were generally not ready for that either. The bike is “green”, but still fast enough and often faster than a car. And it can be in addition very comfortable if you ride a recumbent bike. Our idea of a recumbent bike City version is based on the Mini model or Bufo model, but some versions with the combination of 20/26” wheels will also do well. We recommend a multi-speed hub Shimano Alfine with eight speeds, which is now used by many of our customers e.g. in Amsterdam. Its maintenance is quite simple, the chain gets less dirt and the wheel hub is predestined for everyday use of the bike. Of course, proper lighting such as Edelux light and lighting dynamo in the SON front hub cannot be missing. And of course, you must not forget about the fenders and rack. Upper steering is then the best choice for urban traffic.
